Over the past year, we’ve been thrilled to see how the support and engagement for the Xbox app on Windows PC have skyrocketed. Today, we’re excited to announce that the new Home experience, which we’ve been testing with Xbox Insiders, is now available for all players on the Xbox app. This update makes it quicker and simpler for gamers to find their cherished titles and explore exciting new ones.
The revamped Home is packed with featured content, ensuring players are in the loop on game releases, events, Game Pass goodies, sales, and more. Plus, there’s a bunch of curated collections and personalized recommendations. You’ll find amazing deals and discounts, and with the “Jump back in” feature, those using Compact Mode can effortlessly dive back into their games straight from the hub with just a click.
While many of us dive into the app to grab and play amazing Game Pass titles, the Xbox app is also proving to be a top spot for discovering fantastic Xbox games that aren’t part of Game Pass.
Earlier this summer, we teamed up with partners to integrate all PC games featuring Xbox elements into the app. We’re beyond excited about the potential influx of Xbox titles coming to Windows PC, thanks to game creators. We’re also rolling out the red carpet for nearly 400 titles that were previously hard to spot or purchase in the Xbox app.
This selection includes a rich array of games from renowned Japanese studios like Kemco and Kairosoft, alongside gems like “Shovel Knight Treasure Trove” by Yacht Club, “The Jackbox Party Pack,” and “The Invincible” by Double 11, among many others.
Moreover, over 100 of these new additions support Xbox Play Anywhere. This means if you purchase the Xbox console version, you can also play on Xbox PC, and vice versa. Features like universal Xbox ownership, cloud saves, and cross-play between console and PC—sometimes even across other platforms at the developer’s choice—are truly beloved by the community.
With the surge in Windows handheld gaming devices, developers now have an amazing opportunity to meet players wherever they are. This newfound flexibility ensures players can enjoy their favorite games with friends, no matter their location.
If your game has recently joined the app and supports cross-entitlements, please make sure this is noted in your game’s capabilities section. This way, we can help spread the word!
