In an exciting update for Xbox Insiders, the ability to stream owned games from your console through Xbox Cloud Gaming has now become available, right alongside some of the top picks from Game Pass. Although the selection of compatible games doesn’t appear to be expanding just yet, those with an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription can now stream a handful of games on both Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.
Microsoft continues to enhance its Xbox Cloud Gaming offering for Insiders with access in the Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha preview groups. Currently, 50 games not tied to Game Pass are available for streaming via Xbox Cloud Gaming. As detailed on Xbox Wire, members of these alpha rings in 28 countries can now stream their owned Xbox games on consoles, as well as on PCs, smartphones, and tablets, giving a broader platform reach. To jump in, an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription is a must.
Initially, this console streaming feature wasn’t anticipated to arrive until the following year, making this update a pleasant surprise. Testers of this new feature will now spot a cloud gaming badge on supported titles within their Xbox console library. Plus, you can effortlessly filter your collection to show options under “Ready to play” or “Cloud gaming.”
Microsoft has hinted at further improvements, noting that future updates will allow users to launch games directly from the Store app and enable streaming in the Xbox app on Windows PC.
When this feature made its debut last month, Game Pass Ultimate members gained the ability to stream a selection of their owned games via web browsers. For now, about 50 games have joined the party, including big names like Baldur’s Gate 3, Cyberpunk 2077, and Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2.
We can hardly wait for this feature to become available to all players, potentially by 2025. How about you? Are you eager to stream some of your favorite Xbox Series X|S games through Xbox Cloud Gaming? We’d love to hear your thoughts, so feel free to join the conversation below!
