Pizza Hut has wonderfully combined the worlds of delicious, cheesy food and gaming with their latest creation: the PIZZAWRMR. This nifty gadget has been crafted to sit on your Sony PlayStation 5, keeping your favorite pizza hot while you immerse yourself in intense gaming sessions. But if you’re wondering where to buy one, you might be surprised—this isn’t an item hitting the shelves or being given away. Instead, Pizza Hut Canada is offering something unique: free 3D printing files. Interested users can sign up, download, tweak, and print the PIZZAWRMR themselves.
The design borrows some inspiration from the classic red roof seen on Pizza Hut restaurants. It’s practical too; the lid opens much like a laptop, allowing easy access to those pizza slices. Apparently, there’s room for several slices up top, and the design cleverly directs your console’s hot exhaust into this pizza-warming zone. The folks at Pizza Hut are calling it a triumph of “science and engineering for the greater good.”
Included in the downloadable package are STL files and a PDF guide—providing you everything you need to start your 3D printing adventure. You’ll find detailed 3D printer files for various components like the body, lid, and a specific stand. However, there’s a particular caveat: the design is tailored to fit PS5 consoles with rear ventilation dimensions of 11.7 x 1.31 inches. Plus, to print the PIZZAWRMR in one go, you’d need a 3D printer with at least a 15 x 15-inch printing bed, which rules out many of the more common models. Consider using an Elegoo Neptune 4 Max, a Prusa XL, or perhaps an Elegoo Orange Storm Giga if you’re up for the challenge.
Of course, a wise gamer knows that consoles and pizza don’t naturally mix well due to crumbs and grease threats. Pizza Hut recommends using a foil tray inside the warmer, sized at 34 x 23 x 2.5cm, to protect your valuable PS5. The switch to metric measurements for the tray might feel odd, but it’s possibly just a Canadian twist. Once set up, Pizza Hut advises kicking off your gaming to heat the PIZZAWRMR, then sliding your pizza slices in, with their medium slices fitting perfectly.
Innovations like the PIZZAWRMR aren’t entirely new in the fast-food industry’s playbook. Back in 2020, KFC playfully introduced the KFConsole, a heatsink-filled contraption capable of keeping your fried chicken toasty while gaming. What started as a whimsical concept eventually turned into a real product, powered by Intel NUC technology.
Whether this will become a trend of the future or remains a quirky side project, it’s clear that fast-food brands are looking to make a mark in the gaming world. If you’re intrigued, make sure to catch Pizza Hut’s upcoming livestream to see the PIZZAWRMR in action!
