Japanese game developer Tango Gameworks might be exploring the possibility of a sequel to their 2023 release, Hi-Fi Rush. In an interview with IGN, studio head Colin Mack expressed that the team is entertaining the idea, but stopped short of confirming any concrete plans. “We are considering a sequel positively,” Mack shared with IGN. “However, we aren’t quite at the point where we can clearly say, ‘Here’s what we’re doing next.'”
Adding to Mack’s comments, Hi-Fi Rush director John Johanas explained, “A lot of our team is really fond of Hi-Fi Rush, so we feel like we have some options to explore. At the moment, we’re in the phase of weighing various opportunities.”
Kazuaki Egashira, the project’s manager, chimed in with a different perspective, highlighting what sets Tango Gameworks apart: their drive to innovate and create fresh experiences. “Hi-Fi Rush gained popularity as a new intellectual property, but if it remains unchanged, it would risk becoming stale over time,” Egashira noted.
Egashira further emphasized, “What defines Tango Gameworks is our willingness to embrace new challenges. I hope we can keep working in a manner that prioritizes our developers, all while maintaining our passion.”
