Last week was full of surprises in the gaming sphere, with a few unexpected releases that flew under the radar. Namco brought out "Family Tennis" in its arcade Vs version for the Archives, and Ys II popped up once again on the EggConsole. But perhaps the biggest shock came from Pocketpair, makers of the notorious Early Access games, who stealthily released Overdungeon, a roguelike dungeon crawler that’s ready to play right out of the gate. It’s quite an achievement for them!
This year, 2025, seems to be a goldmine for fans of RPG remasters. Following the updated versions of Ys: Oath in Felghana and Freedom Wars from the previous week, this week’s highlights include Tales of Graces F—originally a Wii title—getting a makeover. Adding to the excitement is Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, Nintendo’s major revival for the first quarter. Also worth mentioning is Blade Chimera from Playism, a former Indie World standout.
Aside from another title from Kairosoft and yet another EggConsole game that, unfortunately, doesn’t come with English options according to the eShop snapshots, that pretty much wraps up the week’s notable releases.
