Winking Studios, a top-tier Asian outsourcing firm in the gaming industry, has successfully purchased Mineloader, a company based in China. The total value of the acquisition is set at £16.3 million, roughly equal to $19.87 million. This payment is structured with an initial $14.7 million given upfront, while the remaining sum will be distributed over the next five years, conditional on Mineloader meeting specific performance goals.
Mineloader has been carving its path since its inception in 2003, specializing in art outsourcing for game development.
“This is the biggest acquisition we’ve made so far, and it’s a crucial move that strengthens our standing in the global video games scene. It creates exciting new opportunities for growth and fresh ideas,” commented Johnny Jan, who is not only the CEO but also the founder of Winking Studios.
Jan emphasized the significant role that game art plays in development. It’s the creative bedrock that captivates gamers and defines their experience. With Mineloader’s impressive history and expertise in game art, their team of over 460 professionals will enhance Winking Studios’ current workforce of more than 800. This will expand their service range and attract new clients. Moreover, Mineloader’s solid foothold and experience in the Japanese market offer an added advantage to Winking Studios’ business network.
