Intel’s XeSS technology has now been integrated into over 150 games, with exciting news that more titles are on the horizon. While XeSS 2 is still in its infancy, the journey for Intel’s XeSS began with the first Arc Alchemist GPUs, marking a significant stride in gaming technology.
Though XeSS 2 hasn’t gained widespread traction just yet, its predecessor, XeSS 1.0, alongside subsequent upgrades, has already become a staple in numerous games. Intel recently shared the milestone that XeSS now features in more than 150 games, with an expanding lineup expected in the near future.
Currently, the roster includes many popular modern AAA titles boasting XeSS technology. However, XeSS still faces stiff competition from the likes of AMD’s FSR and NVIDIA’s DLSS in the gaming landscape.
In a celebratory tweet, Intel Gaming proclaimed their achievement: “We’ve hit the mark on 150+ games with #XeSS support, with more on the way,” urging gamers to experience the pinnacle of gaming via Intel’s XeSS AI upscaling.
While Intel has made commendable progress, there are still hurdles to overcome in matching the prowess of its competitors. A majority of titles at present support XeSS 1, with its newer versions gradually gaining traction. Yet, XeSS 2 currently appears only in two games, F1 2024 and Marvel Rivals. Expectations are high for upcoming titles like Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Killing Floor 3, along with others that are set to adopt XeSS 2 technology soon.
Additionally, some games show support for Intel’s XeSS Frame Generation, though it isn’t as prevalent as alternatives like FSR and DLSS Frame Gen. It’s important to note that both XeSS 2 and Frame Generation functionalities are compatible solely with Intel Arc Battlemage GPUs. Presently, this series includes just two models: Arc B580 and Arc B570, which are not readily available.
Intel’s gaming endeavors continue to unfold, offering a glimpse into an evolving future for the gaming community.
