We’re gearing up for another exciting instalment of the VR Games Showcase this March, and organizers are promising their “biggest lineup yet” for XR games.
While specifics are scarce for now, particularly concerning the event’s exact date, the organizers have hinted in a post that we’ll be getting more details soon. As always, anticipation is high to see which studios will participate, giving us a better idea of the games that might be featured. Expect a significant focus on Quest games alongside titles for PSVR 2 and PC VR.
Reflecting on last year’s showcase, we witnessed a flurry of game announcements and updates. There were gameplay reveals like HITMAN III: Reloaded and the Arizona Sunshine Remake from Vertigo Games, not to mention Fast Travel Games’ Action Hero. The event also treated us to gameplay trailers of the survival game GRIM, reminiscent of Rust. In total, announcements came from seven studios, highlighting over 15 titles.
Following that, a month later, we had the ‘XR Indies and Friends’ showcase. This brought fresh updates on exciting projects such as Innerspace VR’s One True Path, gameplay footage from Cyborn’s mixed-reality adventure Wall Town Wonders, and a sneak peek at the VR adaptation of Ovid Works’ Metamorphosis. We even got a glimpse of DIG VR, an arcade digging sim from Just Add Water.
As we wait for more updates, we’ll definitely be keeping tabs on the VR Games Showcase YouTube channel, where the event will be livestreamed, to catch any announcements ahead of March.
