Take-Two Interactive recently hinted at their intentions to support the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2, although they’re not ready to divulge more details just yet.
Over the years, Take-Two has been a key player in bringing popular franchises to the original Switch. They’ve rolled out hits like BioShock: The Collection, Borderlands Legendary Collection, XCOM 2 Collection, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, as well as more recent titles like New Tales from the Borderlands, LEGO 2K Drive, NBA 2K25, and the eagerly awaited Sid Meier’s Civilization VII.
Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, shed some light on their relationship with Nintendo during the company’s Q3 2025 earnings call. He mentioned, “We’ve always enjoyed a strong partnership with Nintendo. Our support for their platforms has always been contingent on what makes sense for each game release. There was a period when Nintendo’s platforms were more kid-oriented, which influenced our lineup back then.”
He went on to say, “Today, with the Nintendo Switch, and likely with the upcoming Switch 2, the devices cater to all kinds of audiences. For instance, you can now play Sid Meier’s Civilization VII on the Switch. While there’s nothing definitive to announce at the moment, I’d say we’re inclined to back Switch 2.”
Gamer enthusiasts and fans of Nintendo can look forward to catching more about this new console in an upcoming Nintendo Direct presentation dedicated to the Nintendo Switch 2. It’s scheduled for broadcast at 6 AM PT / 9 AM ET / 2 PM BST / 3 PM CEST on Wednesday, April 2.
The Nintendo Switch 2 is slated for a global release in 2025, although an exact launch date hasn’t been locked in yet.
