In this update, Kojima steps into the shoes of Dr. Yoshimi Tokui. You can experience this mission by snagging the Dr. Tokui Tapes collectible in the Extrasensory Lab tucked away in the Research Sector, according to a detailed post by Remedy Entertainment’s community manager, Vida Starcevic, on the Control website. For those in the know, this mission was a gem only available to PlayStation 4 Digital Deluxe edition players—until now.
Besides the thrilling cameo, players are also treated to three fresh outfits that were initially available only as preorder bonuses. The update doesn’t stop there; it brings graphical enhancements and DLSS updates, along with a slew of bug fixes. One key fix addresses some audio quirks that troubled certain cinematics and the end credits due to pesky mixing issues. Starcevic humorously reassured fans, “It wasn’t the Hiss, it was us. Sorry.”
