Insomniac Games has recently addressed the calls from fans eagerly awaiting news about Marvel’s Wolverine for the PS5. The developer made it clear that updates will be shared on their terms, and they won’t be rushed into revealing details prematurely.
In a conversation sparked by a tweet discussing a Spider-Man 2 PC port, one follower called out the studio for allegedly ignoring the PS5 community hungry for Wolverine information, sarcastically dubbing them a “great team.” Typically, Insomniac doesn’t engage in back-and-forths on social media, but this particular comment prompted a response from their team.
“We’ll share news about the game when we’re ready to share it,” Insomniac stressed, emphasizing the word “we.” They further explained, “That will always be our answer. We can’t respond to every request as these things require time, resources, and proper approval to be shared.”
Despite the current silence, Insomniac reassured fans that they are “actively” working on the Wolverine game. Towards the end of 2023, the studio faced a significant ransomware attack, leading to some alpha footage of Wolverine leaking online. Although this was a difficult setback, Insomniac assured that the hack hadn’t affected the game’s development or their plans for revealing it.
Marvel’s Wolverine was initially announced back in September 2021, yet there’s been little news since then. Given that lengthy development periods are quite common in the gaming industry, it may still be a while before we get to see substantial gameplay.
