Disney Dreamlight Valley is gearing up for its next big update, spotlighting Alice in Wonderland while also bringing in some exciting Star Wars elements. Gamers have long speculated about the arrival of both Alice in Wonderland and Star Wars content, and it seems their guesses are spot-on now that it’s officially confirmed.
Arriving on April 23, the Wonderland Whimsy update is set to introduce a nifty Uncrafting Station, which operates similarly to the Dreamlight Stompers—the clever April Fools’ joke that caught many by surprise. Alice and the quirky Cheshire Cat are making their debut in this update, alongside a fresh Star Path called the Garden of Whimsy Star Path. This new path is filled with goodies, such as a trendy Minnie Mouse Dreamstyle and a special premium animal companion. For those who love new outfits, there will also be a selection of Wonderland-themed clothing to choose from, not to mention some quality-of-life enhancements sprinkled throughout the game.
What might come as a surprise, however, is the arrival of Star Wars content in tandem with the Wonderland Whimsy update. Soon, players can snag a range of Star Wars-themed items from the Premium Shop. Expect to see Jedi robes, a cool lightsaber hand accessory complete with a unique photo pose, and everyone’s favorite droid, R2D2, becoming your trusty Companion. Just in time for Star Wars Day on May 4, these items let you celebrate the occasion in true galactic fashion, although the exact release date hasn’t been nailed down yet.
Historically, Disney Dreamlight Valley has drawn characters exclusively from Walt Disney Animation and Pixar Studios films, but it’s been creative with other elements. There are numerous nods to Disney Parks, and items inspired by Disney Channel Original Movies like Hocus Pocus are already part of the game. While these certainly have their appeal, Star Wars has captured an even wider audience, hinting that perhaps Marvel might be the next big theme to make its way into the Valley.
Given Star Wars’ introduction, it wouldn’t be out of left field if Gameloft and Disney decide to weave Marvel content into the game. Although there’s no Marvel holiday per se, National Superhero Day on April 28 could be a fitting time for such a release. Alternatively, they might opt to celebrate a significant figure from Marvel’s history, like Jack Kirby’s birthday on August 28 or Stan Lee’s on December 28.
A clever approach to integrating Marvel content into Disney Dreamlight Valley might be to draw from its roots. It’s easy to overlook that Big Hero 6 originated from a Marvel comic. By introducing characters from Big Hero 6, the game would stay true to its focus on Disney and Pixar films, while seamlessly integrating the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) elements into both the Star Path and the Premium Shop.
