NVIDIA and AMD are gearing up to introduce their budget-friendly GPUs next month, setting the stage for a showdown in the mainstream market.
### NVIDIA & AMD Set to Capture Mid-Range GPU Market with RTX 5060 & RX 9060 XT
The current landscape for low-to-mid-range GPUs is a bit tight, largely due to the limited supplies of the latest models, particularly from NVIDIA, which has pushed prices beyond their intended MSRPs. Similarly, AMD’s RX 9070 series is seeing high demand, making it tough to snag one at the suggested retail price. However, it looks like both GPU giants are about to offer fresh options for everyday consumers. According to a report from Benchlife, we can expect a joint launch from NVIDIA and AMD as early as next month.
Starting with NVIDIA, the company is rumored to debut the GeForce RTX 5060 on May 19. This card is expected to feature 8 GB of GDDR7 VRAM running at 28 Gbps via a 128-bit memory bus. It’s also set to consume more power, with a 35W TDP increase over the RTX 4060. Here’s how the RTX 5060 stacks up against its predecessor:
– 25% More CUDA Cores
– Same Memory Capacity
– Faster GDDR7 Memory (28 Gbps?)
– Increased Bandwidth (+64%)
– 30% Higher Power Rating
Meanwhile, AMD is expected to roll out the Radeon RX 9060 XT, with its big reveal scheduled for May 21 at Computex, though it might hit shelves in June. The RX 9060 XT will utilize the Navi 44 die with a 128-bit interface, available in both 8GB and 16GB versions, akin to NVIDIA’s RTX 5060 Ti. It will boast 2,048 SPs, half of the Radeon RX 9070 XT, with gaming clocks set at 2620 MHz and boost clocks reaching 3230 MHz, ensuring solid performance for 1080p and 2K gaming.
We’ll be on the ground at Computex 2025, bringing you live updates on the NVIDIA and AMD launches, and hopefully, offering some early sneak peeks. The competition in the mid-range GPU segment is heating up, and May could be a pivotal month for these tech titans.
