### Which Pokémon Should Receive New Mega Evolutions in Legends: Z-A?
#### The Kalos Starter Trio May Have More Time to Shine
There’s still a mystery around which starter Pokémon players will encounter in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, but many anticipate the original Kalos trio—Froakie, Fennekin, and Chespin—returning as the region’s starters. Initial thoughts leaned towards a completely new set of starters, akin to Legends: Arceus, yet recent whispers hint at a revival of Kalos’ original team. Even if the starting Pokémon differ, these three hold a deep connection to the region and seem likely to make an appearance.
In a twist of fate, while the Kanto and Hoenn starters got Mega forms, the Kalos starters missed out. If Legends: Z-A brings them back, introducing Mega Evolutions would offer a fitting continuation of themes from the past. Mega forms for Greninja, Delphox, and Chesnaught would pay homage to Kalos’s heritage while paving new paths forward.
#### Legendary Pokémon Can Mega Evolve

Pokémon Legends: Z-A offers a golden opportunity to expand on the lore around AZ and his special Floette. Such a narrative could even suggest that Eternal Flower Floette is a Mega Evolved form. While middle-stage evolutions haven’t typically received Mega forms, Floette, with its unique characteristics, could set a new precedent. Its distinct appearance and suggested higher power could be explained by a hypothetical Mega Evolution.

While Porygon might not immediately come to mind for a Mega Evolution, its presence in Legends: Z-A makes more sense upon deeper consideration. The narrative focus on the redevelopment of Lumiose City aligns perfectly with Porygon’s artificial nature. As players work to reshape the city, a parallel storyline involving a Mega-evolved Porygon could offer a thematic resonance. As players enhance and upgrade the city, they might similarly discover new dimensions to Porygon’s capabilities.
