Last Thursday, the orders for Bigscreen Beyond 2 flooded in at an unexpectedly rapid pace. This leading PC VR headset maker is thrilled to announce that its latest lightweight and slim headset shattered records, outperforming the sales of its predecessor within just 24 hours. Astoundingly, the sales on the very first day matched what took six months for the original Beyond 1 to achieve.
Following the launch of Beyond 2, we’ve been privy to some pretty incredible statistics. Within the first 25 minutes alone, Beyond 2 outdid the entire first-day sales of Beyond 1. The momentum didn’t stop there. By the end of the first hour, they had doubled the launch day sales of their previous model. Fast forward to 10 hours into the launch, Beyond 2 had already outsold the equivalent of four months of Beyond 1 sales.
Bigscreen’s founder and CEO, Darshan Shankar, took to social media platform X on Friday to share the most astonishing sales figure yet. He stated, “In the first 24 hours, Beyond 2 has sold 10 TIMES as many Beyond 1s sold on its launch day 2 years ago. In the first 24 hours, Beyond 2 has sold as much as Beyond 1 did in its first 6 months of sales. That’s exceptional.”
Interestingly, Shankar highlighted that this immense success came without spending a dime on advertising. No influence-driven promotions, no costly agency videos, nothing. They simply let the product do the talking.
That said, they did distribute a handful of early Beyond 2 units to notable reviewers. This small number of initial units, around 10, landed in the hands of well-known reviewers like Tested, Thrillseeker, MRTV, and VR Flight Sim Guy.
If you haven’t caught up on the buzz yet, here’s a quick rundown of what makes Beyond 2 special. It comes in two versions: one with eye-tracking capabilities called Beyond 2e, and a standard version, priced at $1,019 and $1,219 respectively.
Maintaining its signature dual 1-inch 2,560 × 2,560 micro-OLED displays from the original Beyond, Beyond 2 boasts significant upgrades. The most prominent of these is the enhanced field-of-view and improved clarity, thanks to a new pancake lens design. This innovation expands Beyond 2’s diagonal FOV to 116 degrees, up from the original’s 102 degrees, and features an adjustable IPD mechanism, all packed into a lighter 107g design.
While the first orders were initially slated for shipment in April for Beyond 2 and May for Beyond 2e, those placing new orders now can expect delivery in June.
