HOOP-O Studios, a rising indie developer known for their innovation in mixed reality games, is gearing up to launch “Alex and the Jets” on the Quest 3 next month. This exciting new title is all about remote-controlled dogfighting, and it promises to deliver a unique gaming experience.
“Alex and the Jets” is a casual, arcade-style flying game where you take on the role of Alex the Squirrel, navigating the skies in a charming, small fixed-wing propeller plane. Your mission? Target and take down aerial adversaries from the notorious “The Jets” gang. These foes burst into your space through portals in your walls, offering a thrilling challenge. Meanwhile, the skies are dotted with donut-shaped goals to zoom through, providing weapon upgrades and health boosts.
Beyond the heat of battle, the game offers a relaxing free-roam mode. Here, you can leisurely explore your surroundings without the pressure of combat. There’s also a leaderboard to keep track of your in-game achievements and a cosmetic store where you can unlock stylish looks for Alex.
One standout detail is that the gameplay footage seen in the trailer was captured directly from the device using the headset’s camera. This showcases the studio’s confidence in their product.
Though there’s no concrete release date yet, HOOP-O Studios is eyeing an April launch on the Horizon Store. You can expect “Alex and the Jets” to be available on both the Quest 3 and the upgraded Quest 3S platforms.
