This time of year brings a highlight to the GT calendar as we make our way to Amsterdam in the Netherlands for the World Finals of the Gran Turismo World Series 2024. Following three thrilling rounds in Montreal during July, Prague in August, and Tokyo in September, the points race has never been tighter. Now, the action returns to Theater Amsterdam, the very site of last year’s World Series Showdown.
As always, the excitement kicks off with the Toyota Gazoo Racing GT Cup final, serving as the opening event for the World Finals on Friday, December 7 at 16:00 CET. This fiercely competitive race promises to feature a mix of seasoned World Series veterans and ambitious newcomers eager to leave their mark. Twenty-four drivers from across the globe will battle through two heats, culminating in a Grand Final to crown the 2024 champion.
Leading the Manufacturers Cup standings is Team Lexus. However, their star driver, Igor Fraga from Brazil, who clinched victory in Round 1 in Montreal, will be absent due to racing duties in Japan’s Super GT. Stepping in is Chile’s Harald Walsen, while Team Porsche aims to close in on the four-point gap, all while fending off a close challenge from Team BMW, only a point further back.
Each team, having been represented by different drivers in Rounds 1-3, will unite in Amsterdam, sharing both the racing and strategy responsibilities. Catch the Manufacturers Cup action live at 19:00 CET on Friday.
The Nations Cup takes the spotlight on Sunday, December 8 at 16:00 CET. Kylian Drumont of France leads the standings after an impeccable performance in Tokyo, holding a slender one-point lead over a three-way tie for second. This tight competition includes past champions like Spain’s Jose Serrano, Takuma Miyazono from Japan, who triumphed in Montreal, and Italy’s Valerio Gallo, the Prague winner.
All events will unfold before a live crowd at Theater Amsterdam, but for those unable to attend in person, don’t worry—live streams are available. Here’s the schedule:
