In this action-packed adventure, battles not only test your mettle but also help your Synths grow. By engaging in combat, they earn experience points, climbing through five distinct levels, each offering unique enhancements. Of course, as your Synths climb higher in levels, gaining experience becomes trickier, so it’s wise to switch them up often. By doing so, you ensure you’re maximizing your team’s potential and unlocking an array of new abilities.
Take the “Psitek” Synth, for example. From the get-go, it can illuminate paths by lighting torches. Reach level three, and it gains an impressive ability to slash through projectiles—a handy trick for those tricky dungeons. However, beyond this, most of its perks are geared towards powering up in battles, which might prompt you to switch to another Synth—one that can unlock fresh abilities without as much experience grinding.
Early on in your adventure, you’ll acquire a boat, once used by scientists, now at your disposal. The Genesis Archipelago stretches before you, full of little islands waiting to be explored. They’re not just scenic routes, though—these islands are treasure troves of bonuses like extra hearts, items to boost stats, and currency to burn at shops. While you have the option to explore every nook and cranny, you’re also free to set your sights directly on the major islands, where the scientists’ shady dealings await.
The primary islands present formidable boss Synths, but don’t be surprised to find them on optional islands too. With over 40 Synths to capture, you’re in for quite the challenge. Yet, every corner of the archipelago promises rich rewards for those daring enough to seek them out.
