The modding community for Helldivers 2 has been busy crafting some intriguing creations lately, especially if you have a fondness for titles like Crazy Taxi or Halo 3: ODST. The latest buzz is about what appears to be the first genuine “Warbond” mod, and it truly looks impressive.
To clarify upfront, this mod is more of a Warbond-like experience rather than a full-fledged Warbond complete with all the official embellishments that Arrowhead typically offers. However, if you’re simply looking to experiment with new armor, this mod delivers exactly that.
The mastermind behind this “modded Warbond” is a modder named Jayypino, and he’s named it ‘Dogmatic Reach’—a title that takes on its meaning once you explore the mod itself. Essentially, it introduces a variety of new armor sets and helmets, melding elements from Helldivers 2 and Halo 3: ODST. This blend allows you to look somewhat Spartan, but without the abruptness of mods that just let you don the garb of Master Chief or someone similar. As Jayypino describes, it’s “something different, but familiar,” featuring “custom vanilla-styled textures” that “should match with vanilla armours nicely.”
These new armor sets replace existing ones in the game and come with various paint job options. You can give your helmet some fierce teeth or sport a blue color scheme, which complements another Warbond-style mod by Jayypino known as The Grave Situation Team’s ‘SEAF Specialists.’
To try out the mod, you’ll need the latest version of Teutinsa’s ‘HD2 Mod Manager.’ Once you’re set up, you can greet the mod’s trio of new armors: the Chimera, Hydra, and Cyclops sets.
The Helldivers 2 community hasn’t been short on excitement lately. For instance, a dataminer recently claimed to have unintentionally activated what seemed like an Illuminate Aurora Borealis while tinkering with obelisks. Meanwhile, an aspiring artist has crafted a 14-page concept of what an indoor dungeon mission might look like, showcasing the community’s creativity and enthusiasm.
