Acer has rolled out an exciting range of six new graphics cards under the Radeon RX 9070 series, featuring impressive base and OC models that boast boost clocks of up to 3.1 GHz. This launch is stirring up quite a buzz in the gaming community.
In this new lineup, Acer has introduced fresh BiFrost and Nitro editions of Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 models. The Nitro RX 9070 XT OC, in particular, grabs attention with its hefty price tag of $829.
A long-time partner with AMD, Acer is back in the spotlight with this lineup of RDNA 4 GPUs. While they’re not as frequent a contender as some of AMD’s other core partners, they’ve made an impressive re-entry with these six new variants, divided into three models for each series.
The collection encompasses two Nitro editions for both the Radeon RX 9070 XT and the Radeon RX 9070, alongside a BiFrost edition for each model. Acer’s BiFrost editions stand out with their remarkable aesthetics and superior cooling mechanisms, making them the go-to choice for gamers seeking the best. Meanwhile, the Nitro edition caters to a broader audience without skimping on performance.
Starting with the BiFrost cards, the standout Acer BiFrost Radeon RX 9070 XT OC 16 GB features a sophisticated triple-fan cooling system, framed in stylish design with eye-catching silverfish accents around the central fan. Equipped with FrostBlade 4.0 ringed fans with a counter-spin design, this setup ensures exceptional heat dispersal. Its sizable 295 mm length and 2.5-slot thickness make it a powerful ally for high-performance gaming. Plus, with a factory overclock reaching up to 3.1 GHz, it’s built to deliver a stellar gaming experience.
The Acer BiFrost Radeon RX 9070 OC 16 GB shares a similar design but differs slightly, utilizing two 8-pin power connectors instead of the XT variant’s three. Nevertheless, both models carry a 340W rating, even though the RX 9070 naturally consumes less power. The two 8-pin connectors, alongside the PCI-E x16 slot, suffice for a 340W power supply. However, it lacks the extra wiggle room for overclocking seen in the BiFrost RX 9070 XT OC.
Turning to the Nitro series, Acer offers both non-OC and OC versions for each RX 9070 series model. The Acer Nitro Radeon RX 9070 XT OC features a triple-fan design and can reach up to a 3.1 GHz boost clock. It maintains the 2.5-slot dimension and matches the BiFrost in length, requiring three 8-pin power connectors and a 340W TDP. The non-OC Nitro RX 9070 XT, rated at 304W, also uses all three connectors. As a non-OC card, its capabilities max out at 2970 MHz on boost and up to 2.4 GHz in game mode.
Finally, the Acer Nitro Radeon RX 9070 OC and RX 9070 16 GB editions present clock speeds of up to 2.7 GHz and 2.52 GHz, respectively. While their design stays consistent, they differ in power ratings; the OC model measures at 245W, whereas the non-OC version sits at 220W.
As for pricing, Acer hasn’t disclosed all figures yet but has announced that the Acer Nitro Radeon RX 9070 XT OC 16 GB carries a hefty price of $829.99. Expect the BiFrost editions to cost even more. Availability details remain scarce, but the Nitro RX 9070 XT OC is set to hit the US market in April.
