It’s hard to believe, but it’s already been a month since Monster Hunter Wilds made its debut on the PlayStation 5! We owe a big thank you to hunters worldwide for your incredible support. Whether you’re an experienced player who’s been with the series for years or someone who’s just starting out with Wilds, we hope you’ve been having a blast exploring the game and diving into those epic High Rank hunts even after the credits have rolled.
Today, we’re thrilled to unveil what’s next for Monster Hunter Wilds with the announcement of the game’s first Free Title Update.
You might find this exciting: the graceful and majestic Leviathan Mizutsune is joining the Wilds. This creature combines elegance with danger, moving with a dance-like grace as it attacks with its tricky bubbles. Gear up to challenge this formidable foe for the very first time in Monster Hunter Wilds. There’s also new armor to forge for both your hunter and Palico, and let’s not forget the eight-star Tempered Mizutsune that’s set to make an appearance. Ready to begin this thrilling hunt? Head over to Kanya in the Scarlet Forest Base Camp, but make sure you’re at Hunter Rank 21 or higher!
And the challenges don’t stop there! Arch-tempered Rey Dau is gearing up to join an Event Quest soon. Previously, Tempered monsters were the peak of difficulty in Monster Hunter Wilds, but Title Update 1 is raising the bar with an even more formidable foe. Take on the Arch-tempered Rey Dau in an Event Quest, accessible for hunters with a HR of 50 or above, coming on April 30. Sharpen your skills and prepare your gear for this upcoming test.
For those who tackled Zoh Shia during the story, here’s your chance for an encore! After the Title Update hits on April 4, hunters HR 50 and above can take on Zoh Shia in High Rank. This epic showdown can now be faced multiple times. Check your Environment Overview to embark on this quest, or look for it to show up as part of the Wyvern’s Wakening event in the Ruins of Wyveria. And yes, you’ll be able to forge brand-new equipment using materials from Zoh Shia.
A new social hub is here for those looking to mingle: welcome to the Grand Hub. It’s not just a place to meet fellow hunters; it’s a venue for unique activities. The Grand Hub is steeped in tradition, having served as a place of worship for the people of Suja. At night, if you’re lucky, you might hear the Diva sing. But that’s not all—hunters can try their hand at the new Barrel Bowling mini-game, where rolling barrel bombs into targets earns you scores, items, and pendants. Don’t forget to nab your Barrel Bowling Vouchers through login bonuses to give it a try. And if all that activity works up an appetite, the Felynes in the Grand Hub are ready to treat you to a hearty meal.
Want to see how you measure up against the world? Arena Quests are back, and up to two hunters can vie for the quickest completion time using predetermined gear. Check out the global rankings at the Expedition Record Board to see where you stand.
We’re also introducing Challenge Quests and Free Challenge Quests—special, limited-time events where participants can earn pendants. Everyone receives these rewards, but top performers could snag something special based on time and ranking. Challenge Quests are for up to two hunters with specific gear, while Free Challenge Quests welcome up to four and have no equipment restrictions.
And for those of you who enjoy a more personalized touch, you can now dress Alma in new outfits! This option becomes available in the camp’s Appearance Menu once you complete certain side missions. Try it out with the free outfit that’s being offered.
Brace yourselves for the arrival of downloadable content: Alma’s new outfit and some classic Monster Hunter gestures will be available for free on the PlayStation Store when the Free Title Update 1 is released. For those who want more, Cosmetic DLC Pack 1 is launching simultaneously, available either through the Cosmetic DLC Pass or as part of the Premium Deluxe Edition.
Mark your calendars, because from April 23 to May 7, the Festival of Accord: Blossomdance is taking over the Grand Hub. Enjoy the seasonal decor and feast on new dishes while collecting event-exclusive equipment, gestures, and decorations.
That’s the scoop on what’s coming with the first Free Title Update. Besides what’s been mentioned, expect some handy fixes and adjustments. But it doesn’t stop here—get ready for another update coming in May, featuring a collaboration with another Capcom game, plus brand-new features! Stay tuned for more. Thanks for your unwavering support, and as always, happy hunting!
