Polish game developer Dark Passenger is making waves after securing $3 million in funding. This promising venture, brought to life by veterans from CD Projekt, attracted attention from investors, with The Games Fund leading the charge and Blite Fund also jumping on board. These funds are earmarked for their debut project—a third-person multiplayer stealth action game set against the rich backdrop of feudal Japan.
Jakub Ben, CEO of Dark Passenger, expressed his enthusiasm about the journey ahead: “The multiplayer scene right now is buzzing with excitement, yet we believe there’s still so much more to explore. Partnering with The Games Fund has been transformative for us, since they’ve shown the imagination, trust, and vision to truly grasp our direction.”
Ben emphasized how crucial this investment is, saying, “It’s a turning point for our team, allowing us to broaden our workforce, lay down solid foundations for our project, and dedicate ourselves to full-scale production.”
Ilia Eremeev, co-founder of The Games Fund, expressed their excitement in backing such an innovative endeavor. “There’s a gap in the market for games that dare to be bold and offer those real ‘Hell yeah!’ moments. After experiencing Dark Passenger’s demo, it was clear that they’re delivering just that,” Eremeev shared.
They were particularly impressed by the team’s ability to deliver top-notch quality given their size and timeframe. “We fell in line with their vision right away. It’s an exhilarating, undiluted power fantasy, and we’re thrilled to be part of this groundbreaking journey with such talented founders,” Eremeev added.
