OneXPlayer has made a splash with the release of the X1 Pro, a versatile device that sports AMD’s innovative Strix Point APUs. Following hot on the heels of the F1 Pro and Ayaneo 3, this new contender is among the pioneering handhelds to integrate AMD’s Zen 5 Strix Point technology, making it a formidable rival to GPD’s soon-to-be-released Pocket 4 mini-laptops.
The X1 Pro stands out with its multifunctional design, seamlessly transitioning between laptop, tablet, and handheld modes. Like the Pocket 4, it features the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor, packed with 12 cores (a mix of four Zen 5 and eight Zen5c) in a dual-CCX configuration, 12MB of L2 cache, 24MB of L3 cache, and a zippy boost clock of 5.1 GHz. On the graphics front, it includes the Radeon 890M with 16 Compute Units, powered by AMD’s XDNA 2, delivering a staggering 50 TOPS of AI performance.
The display is no less impressive—it sports a 10.95-inch, 120 Hz LTPS (likely IPS) panel with a crisply detailed 2560×1600 (2.5K) resolution. The screen also boasts vibrant colors, covering 138% of the sRGB spectrum and offering 540 nits of brightness. When it comes to storage, you can choose configurations ranging from 1TB to 4TB, with read and write speeds reaching up to 7.1 GB/s and 6.5 GB/s, respectively. Plus, for even more storage flexibility, a MicroSD card slot is included.
The X1 Pro is powered by a 65.02Wh battery, promising up to eight hours of use, though real-world usage might see that drop to around two hours at a performance setting of 28W. Included with the device is a 100W Gallium Nitride charger, ensuring quick and efficient charging. In terms of connectivity, it supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2.
A significant design feature is the inclusion of hall-effect RGB joysticks on the controllers, designed to prevent stick drift. You’ll also find a range of I/O options: two USB 4.0 ports, an OCuLink connection, a MicroSD card slot, a USB 3.2 Type-A port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
For those eager to get their hands on this innovative device, pre-orders are open today at a reduced presale price. The X1 Pro is slated to start shipping on January 3rd, and OneXPlayer plans to showcase it alongside other gadgets at CES 2025 next month.
