This week’s episode of the Pure Nintendo Podcast features an exciting discussion where Jemma and Kirk welcome Nick Cellini from Turtle Flip Studio. Nick joins to share details about his debut game for the Switch, “Which Way Up.”
Last week, we reminisced about Chrono Trigger’s 30th anniversary, and this time we shift our focus forward as we eagerly anticipate the Switch 2 Direct. Nick offers a fascinating glimpse into the developer’s side of things, enriching the conversation as Kirk divides his attention between the new console and his excitement over having Xenoblade Chronicles X.
Nick opens up about his journey as an indie developer with Turtle Flip Studio, based in sunny Sydney. Dedicated to crafting their very first title for the Nintendo Switch, Nick and his team have been hard at work. He gives us a peek behind the curtain of the game development world. Their game “Which Way Up,” a lively party game for up to four players, is all set to make its Switch debut on March 27.
The episode also dives deep into the Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition. We spend significant time exploring this revamped classic from the Wii U era. Kirk has already started playing and shares his thoughts on the enhanced action, gameplay, visuals, and the overall improvements. The burning question is: did Kirk succeed in getting Nick on board to try it?
