Resident Evil 4 Remake, the action horror game everyone’s talking about, has now surpassed an impressive 10 million copies sold. This milestone was shared by Capcom on their investor relations page, highlighting its status as the fastest-selling entry in the Resident Evil series.
Released in March 2023, the remake has captivated audiences by blending a fresh gameplay experience with the classic elements fans love. Capcom mentioned that this approach has won over both newcomers and long-time fans alike. Critically acclaimed by media and players, the game has racked up numerous awards worldwide, fueling its growing sales.
Additionally, Capcom shared noteworthy sales figures for other titles in the series: Resident Evil 7 and the 2019 remake of Resident Evil 2 have collectively moved over 15 million copies, while Resident Evil Village has exceeded 11 million sales. Not to be left out, the 2020 remake of Resident Evil 3 has also crossed the 10 million mark.
Capcom attributes this ongoing success to a robust strategy focused on their strong back catalog. Since the franchise first launched in 1996, Resident Evil has sold over 167 million copies, making it a cornerstone of gaming history.
