Roblox’s CEO, Dave Baszucki, recently addressed concerns from parents about the platform’s potential risks, suggesting a straightforward solution: simply steer clear if you’re uncomfortable. In a conversation with the BBC, Baszucki emphasized that even a single negative encounter on Roblox is one too many for him.
“If you’re uneasy about it, my advice is to keep your children off Roblox,” he stated, adding a seemingly paradoxical but straightforward notion that parents should ultimately trust their instincts and make decisions they find suitable.
When questioned about reports of negative experiences and misuse of the platform by bad actors, Baszucki reiterated the company’s stance: “Within the company, our approach is that even one bad incident is too many. We’re vigilant about monitoring for bullying and harassment, and we have robust filtering systems. We take it seriously enough to involve law enforcement when necessary.”
These comments come as the company intensifies its efforts to strengthen child safety on the platform, responding to increasing reports about misuse.
