The team at Combat Waffle, known for their work on Ghosts of Tabor, is gearing up to debut their latest virtual reality shooter, Silent North. This new game promises plenty of thrilling multiplayer experiences, set against the nail-biting backdrop of a zombie-infested world, with its early access launch slated for March on both Quest and Steam.
In Silent North, players find themselves amidst the stunning yet perilous landscapes of the Swiss Alps. Published by Beyond Frames Entertainment, the game throws you into a survival scenario where not only do you have to worry about the undead, but there’s also the threat posed by other players, who are just as keen on survival and looting as you are.
The game offers the flexibility of forming alliances or braving the dangers alone as you search for essential gear and fend off endless waves of the undead. “Environments teeming with PVPVE action means every encounter with other players or the ravenous undead will be inescapable,” says the studio’s description. Whether you’re navigating mountain terrains or open plains, you’ll face exhilarating, heart-racing combat scenarios where strategy is key, and you’ll need to watch for potential ambushes from fellow players lying in wait.
For those eager to jump in, Silent North is now available for pre-order on the Horizon Store at a discounted price of $17, down from its original $20. Steam users can also add the game to their wishlist, ensuring they’ll benefit from that same 15% discount when it launches.
While Silent North’s early access is confirmed for March on Steam and the Horizon Store, details about its availability on additional VR platforms such as PSVR 2 and Pico headsets remain under wraps.
In an update as of February 21st, 2024, the studio has reaffirmed plans for a March release, though they are yet to lock down an exact launch date. Keep your eyes peeled for more updates as the community eagerly awaits the arrival of this intense immersion into the world of Silent North.
