Hey Rovers! I’m thrilled to bring you some exciting updates straight from our development team about the upcoming content for Wuthering Waves. Our cross-platform ARPG has made waves since its release on the PS5, with seamless data sharing across PS5, PC, and mobile for a smooth gaming experience. As we gear up to launch version 2.2, Tangled Truth in Inverted Tower, on March 26, brace yourselves for a host of new features—think fresh characters, maps, gameplay, and even a free 5-Star weapon after completing the Main Quest.
In this new chapter, you’ll be diving into the latest main quest, which takes you on an adventurous journey through Avinoleum to uncover the mysteries surrounding Cartethyia and Sentinel. Picking up where version 2.0 left off, you’ll delve into the secrets of the enigmatic Cartethyia and the vanished Imperator. This next chapter, consisting of quests like The Maiden, The Defier, and The Death Crier, kicks off at Beohr Waters, behind the Porto-Veno Castle. From there, you are whisked to Avinoleum, a mid-air region, to unearth long-hidden truths. As you journey through this inverted seminary, the history of Rinascita and the secrets of Sentinel gradually unfold, and you can snag a free 5-Star Sword, Bloodpact’s Pledge, along the way.
Prepare to meet the latest addition to our roster, the new 5-Star Resonator, Cantarella. Making her debut in version 2.2, she brings the rich legacy of the Fisalia family to life with her deep-sea and toxic arsenal. Wielding an umbrella and assisted by venomous jellyfish, Cantarella gathers Trance, a special energy, to unleash Mirage, an effect that mimics an aquatic dreamscape. As she spends Forte Gauge energy in combat, Cantarella heals all her teammates, and with the right conditions, her Resonance Skill can slow foes. Meanwhile, Resonance Liberation allows her to engage in collaborative attacks for longer durations, while her Outro Skill heightens damage for both Havoc and Resonance Skills, empowering future Resonators.
You’re also in for a treat as you explore a new attribute, Aero, for Rover. After Spectro and Havoc, Aero Rover steps onto the scene, capable of summoning a one-handed sword and performing acrobatic aerial maneuvers to strike enemies. Under certain conditions, Aero Rover’s aerial attacks can provide team-wide healing. After accumulating enough energy, Rover can summon a soaring sword to smash down on enemies. With Resonance Liberation, Rover deals Aero Damage while healing allies.
Moreover, Cantarella’s story comes alive in “A Fleeting Night’s Dream,” a companion tale that arrives with version 2.2. Guided by a cryptic letter from the Ghost Girl, Rover heads to Egla Town for the Night of Remembrance. Here, a red-hatted girl reveals hidden stories linked to Porto-Veno Castle, leading you alongside Cantarella to uncover mysteries in the Sea of Ghosts.
With the story set to unfold, you’ll explore the new map, Avinoleum. Once the pride of Ragunna for its grandeur, this airborne seminary sits high, alongside Sentinel. It’s fraught with Tacet Discords, remnants of the Dark Tide’s havoc. Gravity’s altered here to protect against these threats, creating a downward-facing dome. Gameplay in Avinoleum includes unique challenges like Gravity Adjustment, as you manipulate the many Gravity Calibrators scattered around.
Achieving a remarkable feat, in 2024, Wuthering Waves reached 30 million downloads in its debut month and was honored with numerous awards, including the coveted PS Blog’s Players’ Choice. This is merely the starting point. As our journey unfolds on the PS5, we’re fervently committed to delivering captivating content for gamers globally. Mark your calendars for March 26 and leap into this exhilarating adventure with Cartethyia and Cantarella to unlock the hidden past of Rinascita in the inverted tower.
