Last week, the much-anticipated horror shooter Alien: Rogue Incursion finally made its debut, and while fans were thrilled, they found themselves unexpectedly introduced to a “Part One” saga. This move left many pondering whether they were actually getting a complete game or just a taste of what was to come.
Upon its release for PC VR and PSVR 2, the air was thick with speculation about what the "Part One" tag implied. Was this to be experienced as a standalone game, or was it merely the first chapter in a serialized tale? In our comprehensive review, we assessed the game as a full-fledged, eight-hour adventure, awarding it a [7/10] rating. Although the game had some excitingly immersive environments and adrenalin-pumping battles against relentless hordes of Xenomorphs, our experience was slightly marred by repetitive enemies and a demanding save system.
Addressing the confusion, Survios took to social media platform X to clear the air. They clarified that the "Part One" designation was never intended to mislead but rather to indicate that the story would continue. Although the game wraps up with a cliffhanger, it’s merely the first chapter in a two-part narrative. Fortunately for fans, Part Two is already underway and promises even deadlier foes and tougher hurdles—a development that’s music to our ears.
While we eagerly anticipate how the game will perform on Quest devices, especially on the upcoming Quest 3/3S set for a February 13, 2025 release, it’s worth mentioning that the game incorporates dynamically loaded levels, richly detailed textures, and countless physics-based interactions. These features likely contributed to the delay of its Quest release, as the studio worked to optimize the experience.
Here’s the full statement from Survios:
To our valued community,
We have recently received a lot of feedback about the inclusion of “Part One” in Alien: Rogue Incursion’s opening moments, within the achievement/trophy list, and store pages.
Never did we intend to mislead or cause confusion about what this game is, and we now understand how the addition of “Part One” could be interpreted.
Part One is a standalone adventure which ends with a cliffhanger, and we wanted fans to know that there would be more on the horizon, so we decided to confirm Part Two alongside the launch. The entire team at Survios are fans of the Alien universe, and cannot wait to tell more stories about Zula, Davis, and others.
While we have nothing to announce about Part Two, beyond that it is actively in development, we promise to share more exciting updates at a later date.
We appreciate the excitement and passion you have shown towards Alien: Rogue Incursion, and hope that you enjoy exploring Purdan and Castor’s Cradle as much as we enjoyed creating it.
In the end, Survios’ transparency is certainly appreciated, as is the promise of more thrilling escapades in the Alien universe. Fans and newcomers alike should gear up for what promises to be an even more captivating continuation of the saga.
