The Video Game History Foundation has taken an exciting leap forward by unveiling their digital library of research materials in an early access format. Right off the bat, this library offers a treasure trove of content, featuring over 1,500 searchable out-of-print video game magazines, many of which have been tough to find for the general public. Alongside these, you’ll discover previously unreleased game development documents, stunning artwork, press kits, promotional materials, and so much more.
If you’re eager to dive in, just head over to Library.GameHistory.Org to explore the collection.
The debut of the library is highlighted by the Mark Flitman collection and the Cyan collection. Previously, we at NWR got a sneak peek of the Mark Flitman collection as part of our celebratory 30th anniversary Star Fox documentary and a detailed exploration of Dylan Cuthbert’s Eclipse demo. Both projects were crafted in collaboration with the Video Game History Foundation. On the other hand, the Cyan collection is a real gem, boasting over 100 hours of footage chronicling the creation of the Myst series.
