Dimension 20 enthusiasts are in for a treat with a fresh way to dive into the popular actual play series. Today, Webtoon revealed an exciting collaboration with Dropout’s Dimension 20 to create a comic series inspired by the unique Dungeons-&-Dragons-meets-John-Hughes world of Fantasy High.
Fantasy High is the foundational and most enduring setting of Dimension 20, spanning three full seasons plus multiple spinoffs. It’s a delightful blend of contrasts where, for instance, tieflings and goblins attend high school, elves can sport unfortunate hairstyles, and crystals serve as the latest texting gadgets. Although Webtoon has yet to disclose the creative minds behind this new series—aptly named Fantasy High—they did share a glimpse into the storyline:
The tale follows a group of quirky teenagers as they grapple with the drama of high school while navigating dangers of a magical realm. When their classmates start mysteriously vanishing, these unlikely heroes join forces to unravel a dark plot. Their journey is packed with mystery, laughs, and heartfelt moments that promise an unforgettable ride.
It also came to light that the comic series is planned to span 61 episodes, hinting that it might adapt the inaugural season of Fantasy High. In this series, first-year adventurers—Kristen Applebees, Gorgug Thistlespring, Fabian Seacaster, Riz Gukgak, Adaine Abernant, and Fig Faeth—find themselves entangled in a nefarious conspiracy while probing into the mysterious disappearance of seven girls from their unusual school, Aguefort Adventuring Academy.
According to Webtoon’s announcement, the Fantasy High comic series is slated to hit their platform this coming spring. They’ve also released a captivating promotional image below that you won’t want to miss:
